With an output of around 150 metric tons of yarn a day, the new SVP facility will be the first step in establishing a fully-fledged textile cluster in SOHAR Freezone.

The first phase of the cotton yarn manufacturing plant will run at 50% of full capacity with expansions over the course of two years. The target markets for the finished yarn will be the major textile markets of China, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Vietnam, Portugal and Turkey.

The availability of finished yarn products (75,000 MTPA) in the Freezone creates downstream opportunities in textiles and apparel manufacturing. The downstream opportunities of the cotton yarns produced are companies who are active in mechanical weaving, knitting of textiles and fabrics.
